Psychedelic therapy in Belgium
Psychedelic therapy is not yet offered in Belgium because it is not yet legal to possess and/or sell psychedelics. Belgium has always been fairly conservative and is that in the case of psychedelics such as psilos (psilocybin mushrooms), LSD, MDMA and magic truffles are still illegal. Many studies are currently underway worldwide into the effect of psilocybin in particular on depression. Unfortunately, Belgium is now also lagging behind in doing research and they are watching the cat out of the tree. The current and completed studies on psilocybin are very good and we expect that Belgium psilocybin therapy will legalize in the period 2025-2030 after other countries have done this successfully. Until then, Belgians in the Netherlands can legally undergo a psychedelic session and this is already widely done.

Crossing the border for a trip
A large part of our customers come from abroad after they have heard that the policy on psychedelics is flexible in the Netherlands and that psychedelic sessions are therefore already possible. Belgians form the largest group of our foreign clientele and they often choose to use the room specially designed by us for psychedelic sessions in Schiedam, alone or in a small group. Another option is to book accommodation yourself within the Dutch borders. This can be a holiday home, hotel or Airbnb with private departure.
Wait or come to the Netherlands?
The aforementioned expectations are rough estimates. It may just be that Belgium is rather relaxed following the American example or that they are indecisive not to relax. The moment you are ready to do a psychedelic session it is a shame to wait. Deep down you know if it's your time to dive into the subconscious. If you feel you are not ready then waiting is much better. You only do a psychedelic session if you are looking for it yourself and not because, for example, someone else strongly recommends it. When you're ready, it's early enough!
